Account Manager TX Open (J#48480)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 1 - 3 years

This position is accountable for primarily telephone sales of Transplace services to prospective customers. The incumbent will be the customers single point of contact to provide rate quotes, track shipments, explain billing and other customer service responsibilities required to service the customer. The position reports to a Team Leader and will work cooperatively with a team to win new business and move the shipments by a set of contracted carriers.

Primary Responsibilities
1.Solicit a set of prospective customers primarily using the telephone and explain and sell the various modes of services provided by Transplace to gain business.
2. Provide rate quotes to customers on potential shipments and follow-up to win shipments.
3.Price available shipments in accordance with pricing guidelines to achieve targeted profits per load.
4.Enter shipment details into the Transplace computer system that will flow all required information to people responsible for moving the freight, billing the customer and paying the carriers both timely and accurately.
5.Provide a single point of contact for customers, to handle shipments, track shipments, explain billing, etc.
6.Other duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

1.Possess strong verbal communication skills. Able to connect with people over the phone.
2.Possess strong negotiation and sales skills. Able to maximize financial returns through negotiating best possible price from customer.
3.Able to perform basic math skills
4.Must have competent computer aptitude. Able to use and Word and Excel and become proficient in internal company systems and programs.
5.Must be able to make established minimum number of prospecting calls while building customer base.
6.Once active customer base is established, make established minimum number of quotes per day.
7.Must be able to sell minimum number of loads per day and meet established sales goals.
8.Must be able to generate minimum number of gross sales.
9.Able to work in a high energy and competitive work environment.

Minimum Education and Work Requirements
High school or equivalent required. College degree strongly preferred.
Experience in competitive environment is strongly desired.
Two years work experience preferably in customer service/sales; transportation experience helpful but not necessary
